Disneyland Day 4 & 5

Just a short blog as you can only say went to disneyland so many times!!!! What a problem to have. Mainly caught shows over the last 2 days as we had successfully done every ride in the 2 parks over 3 days. Team Webster hired a Mustang to do Universal Studios and head to the beach, so you can see the kids pictured in the car with Kenny.

Weather update: has been fine and sunny for the last 2 days with temp. of 24 both days.

Groceries update: have found powerade 1ltr. bottles for 89c each, J.D. for $33.99 for a 1.75ltr bottle, box of bud for $15.oo.

Well it's good bye to california and hello Nevada as we head of to Las Vegas in the morning, so hopefully we won't be broke by the next blog.

Off to Hollywood ...baby!!

Today we took in a V.I.P tour of Los Angeles. Hollywood, Downtown L.A, Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Went from 9am thru 5pm.
Beautiful weather 19 - 20 degrees.
Got to see the Hollywood sign, the Boulevard of the Stars .....yes Kenny now has a star (photo to be uploaded in the near future of his own star l), Rodeo drive and Beverly Hills.

Saw Tom Cruise, David Beckham, Halle Berry, Christina Aguillera, Meg Ryan and Sylvester Stallone..........houses that is. Unfortunately no one was home for a cuppa!

Parked in Rodeo drive was this Bugatti Veyron (as pictured in our 'flicker photo gallery'). This car is the most expensive road car on the market, valued at $2.2 million!

Stopped at the Los Angeles Coliseum home of the first Amercian Olympics in 1932 and also in 1984.

For all you Basketball fans - went to the "Staples Centre" - home of the L.A Lakers & the L.A Kings Ice Hockey. Out the front were statues of Magic Johnson, Oscar De La Hoya, Wayne Gretkzy.
And for you Kylie Wilson - all this was directly opposite the Californian Herbalife Headquarters!!

Off to Santa Monica - drove the boulevard, down to Venice Beach. This is where Baywatch was filmed and The O.C. ......the Hoff and Pammy were nowhere to be found.
Filming of the "American Ninja Warrior" show was happening on the beach while we were there.

Disneyland Day 2 & 3 (day and nights)

In this blog we did a bit of park hopping between Disneyland & California Adventure Park. This photo we took of what the park looks like at night. At around 9pm they have an AMAZING light show on the water! All the rides still operate regardless of weather and time.
It rained a little at first, so we purchased poncho's. The lines were marginly shorter for the rides due to the weather but it didn't phase teamconnor and it soon cleared up for the afternoon and the long waits came back !!!
45 minutes to an hour is the most we have had to wait in lines for rides. Kids have been really good but we have explained that in the coming weeks when  the summer holidays start, you can wait for hours!

Some really COOL rides we found today - Space mountain, Flyin' over California, Pirates of the Caribean, Hotel Hollwood and the Big Thunder Rail road.
Mickey's fun wheel as pictured above didn't do much for Julia as we hopped in a swinging carriage - evil !!

Groceries - Have found a convenience store across the street from our hotel that is serving us well. Except when we go to walk across the road, you first look the wrong way! 6 lanes of cars to get across too - and thats just a quiet road! We are slowly getting used to the money (as it all looks the same) except coinage its just irrelavent. Still struggling with the 'tipping' concept, and the tax gets added on top of the price tag. includes the tax) plus you have to tip the shop keeper/waitress 15% of that.

With the shopping items have found junk food ie - chips, soda's etc is on a parr with prices back home, but surprisingly fruit & veg - ie healthy stuff are heaps cheaper. Paid .69 cents a lb for bananas which converts to approx $1.49 kilo. Thought we were on a great bargain there until we spoke to people from Oregon, who told us that .69 cents was double to what they paid back home.

Am really struggling to find decent coffee over here!

Drinks for adults are basically half price as compared to Australia. Scoop wants to move here just for that reason!!!!!

Kenny does California screamin'

Well we tried to have a day of Kenny not taking the spotlight but that failed dismally! Here he is being a menace on the 'California Screamin' roller coaster at California Adventure Park sister company of Disneyland.

Disneyland!

Today "Team Connor" went with "Team Webster" (Scoop's sister Joanne & brother in-law Justin, who are travelling with us for 2 weeks) to Disneyland! Kenny was out of control today! From hanging out with the disney characters to trying on things in the gift shop, goofy's letter box.  Check out the "FLICKER PHOTO LINK" at the bottom of our web page to view our days antics.
Spent 6 hours at Disneyland today of our 5 day pass. Jackson was incapable of walking by the end of the day. 4 days & nights to go........

Weather - rained this morning, came out beautiful this afternoon then cold at around 6pm. Was warm enough to swim yesterday at the resort (heated pool). Struggled with a little bit jetlag yesterday. Both teams were in bed by 7.30pm - ('bout your normal bedtime anyway Dad - Raymond)!

Met some lovely people this morning at breakfast, Dayna, Will & Crystal and have given us a few tips for travelling in their states across the U.S.A.

Back to Disneyland again tomorrow for more of KENNY's antics. Will blog again in a couple of days....
Love Team Connor!

We're here!!
